Nicole and KJ first met and dated in high school. KJ knew Nicole's brother and father through football before meeting her, and although they went their separate ways for a time, they reconnected in college, where KJ played football at SMU.

Nicole and KJ's first decision was to bring Kristin from Events by Kristin on board to plan and design their dream wedding at Marie Gabrielle in Downtown Dallas. Trusting Kristin to bring the right vendors on board, Nicole and KJ married in front of their closest friends and family in an outdoor garden ceremony under a floral arch designed by Something Pretty Floral. Utilizing a soft floral print design palette, Kristin emphasized the surrounding gardens of the venue to create a flawless design.

Perhaps one of the highlights of the evening involved KJ's very special grooms cake. Presented with only a conceptual idea, KJ and Nicole left Heidi from Sugar Bee Sweets to work her magic and present them with a confectionary work of art in a wedding day grand reveal for the Food Networks show Dallas Cakes, which aired on June 18th, 2018.
